Accounts Receivable with MasterTools
The customer master file is stored in the Accounts Receivable module. A customer can have multiple ship to locations with each ship to holding salespeople, special instructions, price classes, attributes, EDI information and many other operational parameters.
Accounts Receivable tracks the following customer credit and balance information: aged items, aging history, average days to pay, high credit, high credit date, open sales order and accounts receivable balances, and sales orders on credit hold. Orders on credit hold can be released on an individual basis or by customer ID.
In MasterTools, non-inventory invoices are entered in the Accounts Receivable module and inventory invoices are entered in the Order Entry/Invoicing module. Both are visible and tracked in the Accounts Receivable module. Recurring invoices can be entered and updated to permanent invoices on a periodic basis, and debit memos and credit memos can also be created.
If the credit card module is selected, a customer may make a payment by credit card with immediate authorization. You can also enter a payment used only for miscellaneous cash receipts where an invoice will never be applied.
The Payments/Applications function gives you the ability to retrieve open items and mark them for either payment or application. Within this function, you have the ability to apply cash discounts, credit memos, create a debit or credit memo, create a charge-back, and apply an overage or shortage allowance.
